The people we work with.
Arbor Survey is consulting-only. We assess, report and supervise; we do not carry out pruning or removal work. That independence is the point, and it means we depend on a network of contractors, fellow consultants and specialists we trust. Here is who they are.
Independent by design
We don't sell the tree work we recommend.
A lot of tree advice comes from firms that also quote to do the cutting. Ours doesn't. We assess the tree, write the report and supervise the work, and someone else holds the saw. It keeps our advice clean, and it is part of why Councils and clients accept it.
The trade-off is that we rely on good people around us. Contractors who do careful work to a specification. Consultants we send work to when we can't act or aren't the right fit. Specialists who run equipment we choose not to own. The firms below are the ones we put our name next to.

When a tree needs pruning, removal or protective works on site, we specify what is required and supervise it. These are the firms we trust to carry it out, to AS 4373 and to the tree protection plan. If you need the works done, start with them.

No single consultant is right for every job. When a project needs a discipline we don't cover, or when we can't act because of a conflict or our workload, we bring in or refer to people we trust.

Some work requires specialists and equipment. We scope it, engage the right provider and interpret the result, so you get the investigation you need without us pretending to own every tool.
Root investigation and control

Non-destructive hydro excavation to expose and map tree roots without damage, plus root barriers and root management.
Internal-decay investigation
For sonic tomography and resistance drilling, we engage accredited specialist providers and interpret the results independently. We scope the right test for the question and read what it tells us, rather than selling you the instrument.

Consulting is the work, but we also put time back into the profession we work in.
Training the next arborists
Mark Reynolds is a Trainer of the Diploma of Arboriculture at Arbortrim, teaching the standards we apply in practice to the people entering the trade.
Committee roles
Mark sits on the National Trust of Australia (Victoria) Significant Tree Committee and on Arboriculture Australia's Education and Skills Committee.
Memberships
Arbor Survey holds membership of Arboriculture Australia and the Victorian Tree Industry Organisation (VTIO), and works to the Arboriculture Australia Minimum Industry Standards.
